In Case of Flood (2014) Linoleum cut, 30” x 44.5” on handmade Japanese paper, Edition 10
Barbara Earl Thomas
Barbara and Sheila first worked together in 2006 when SFAP was located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. Barbara brought 4 carved linoleum blocks to print, the first in a series of prints about fishing, family and history. Barbara can not only cut blocks and paper, she can paint, draw and compose three dimensional space. She is also a consummate writer and storyteller. Somewhere between poetry and prose, her writing feels both personal and universal. She has shown locally and nationally, has completed multiple public art projects and her engraved glass Story Vessels are something to behold. She is represented by Claire Oliver Gallery in NYC.
