Workshops & Demos with Jacoub Reyes

In the summer of 2022 SFAP had the great good fortune to meet Florida artist Jacoub Reyes and invite him to journey to the studio with his partner Brianna Jiménez for a week long residency involving three workshops and two large scale outdoor print demonstrations all designed and led by Jacoub. During the course of his stay in Tukwila he carved two wood blocks (24 x 24) used in the creation of a special print honoring the Duwamish which he donated to them for sale at their annual gala. While on site he also carved a very large masonite sheet (4 x 8 ft.) to use for the two outdoor demonstrations. During the demonstrations we were graced by a special visit from Cecile Hansen, the honorable tribal chair. What a great human being! I can’t thank the Duwamish enough for agreeing to be a part of Jacoubs efforts to engage community and support indigenous tribes across the planet. What great work he is doing!
